Orthex

Orthex Group is a leading Nordic producer of household products that make everyday life easier for the consumer. The Group’s brands include SmartStore™ (storage boxes), GastroMax™ (kitchen products), and Orthex™ (variety of products for home and garden). Orthex strives to be a sustainability leader in its industry.

In 2009, Intera invested in Orthex, Finland’s leading manufacturer of plastic household goods, to support the company’s growth and internationalization. Soon after Intera’s investment, Orthex expanded into a Nordic group by acquiring the Swedish companies Sveico and Hammarplast. The business rapidly grew from three local firms into a significant international company, delivering products to over 40 countries worldwide.

Intera exited from Orthex in 2015 by selling its ownership to Sponsor Capital and Orthex’s management. During Intera’s ownership, the company’s revenue increased significantly from just over EUR 10 million to nearly EUR 60 million, driven by organic growth and acquisitions. The number of employees grew from 100 at the time of the investment to 260 at exit. Orthex has continued its growth after Intera’s ownership, and today, the company’s shares are listed on the main list of the Nasdaq Helsinki Stock Exchange.
