Mikeva

Mikeva was one of Finland’s leading companies in the rapidly growing care sector. The company provided high-quality and safe rehabilitation, care, and residential care services for the mentally and physically disabled and the elderly, as well as welfare services for children and adolescents. The company’s primary customer group was municipalities. During Intera’s ownership, Mikeva grew into one of Finland’s largest private social service providers.

Intera invested in Mikeva in 2008 by acquiring it from the industrial company Ruukki Group. The goal was to build a successful and versatile nationwide company in the care sector, that ensures the highest possible quality of residential care and ancillary services. During the ownership period, Intera supported Mikeva’s strong growth and business development, particularly through the renewal of business strategies, recruitment of management and other key personnel, and by increasing Mikeva’s brand awareness. The company experienced significant organic growth, supported by several strategic acquisitions. Additionally, its operations expanded from the local level to the national scale.

Intera exited Mikeva in 2021 by selling it to G Square Capital I fund. During Intera’s ownership, Mikeva’s revenue grew from EUR 20 million to EUR 50 million. At the beginning of the investment, the company had 320 employees and by the time of Intera’s exit, the number of employees had increased to 1000. After Intera’s ownership, Mikeva continued its strong growth in the footsteps of the groundwork laid by Intera. Today and since 2017, Mikeva operates as part of the Attendo Group.
