Evidensia

Evidensia is the leading Nordic veterinary service chain. The group provides veterinary services, animal wellness services, food and medical supplies, and other accessories for pets, mainly dogs and cats. Additionally, the chain boasts an extensive network of equine hospitals across the Nordic region. As pets have become increasingly important family members, the demand for skilled and high-quality veterinary services has grown significantly in recent years.

Intera invested in Evidensia in 2015 concurrently with Evidensia’s acquisition of Animagi, Finland’s largest chain of veterinary clinics. Intera had previously built Animagi together with Finnish veterinary entrepreneurs in 2012 by combining several veterinary clinics into a nationwide Finnish chain. Intera served as the principal owner of the group until the Evidensia transaction after which Intera acted as a minority shareholder of Evidensia and served on the company’s board.

Intera exited from Evidensia in 2017 by selling its shares minority share to EQT, the principal owner of Evidensia. At the time of Intera’s investment in 2015, the group’s revenue was approximately EUR 190 million, and at the time of the exit in 2017, it was around EUR 250 million. Today, Evidensia is part of IVC Evidensia, Europe’s largest provider of veterinary services.
