Delete

Delete is one of the leading environmental full-service providers in the Nordic countries. The group offers business-critical services that require specialist competence and specialized equipment in cleaning services for the industrial, construction, and real estate sectors.

Intera, together with the entrepreneurs, founded Delete in 2010 through a merger of two leading environmental services companies, Toivonen Yhtiöt, which specialized in demolition and waste management, and Tehoc, which specialized in industrial cleaning. The vision was to decisively build Delete into a leading environmental service provider in Finland and Northern Sweden. The group was developed and expanded through cooperation between the entrepreneurs and Intera.  Delete completed a total of 15 acquisitions over three years to expand the company’s operations nationwide in Finland and successfully expanded into Sweden in 2011.

In addition to acquisitions, Intera played a crucial role in supporting Delete in creating a unified story and brand, and defining common operational practices. Delete invested significantly in recruiting key people and developing its leadership. The company successfully combined the best aspects of entrepreneurial practices, such as agility and quick decision-making, with the strengths of larger companies, including wider resources, brand recognition, and systematic responsibility work. Delete succeeded in professionalizing the entire demolition market and industry through its efforts.

Intera exited from Delete in August 2013, when the Danish private equity fund Axcel became the main owner of the company. During Intera’s ownership, the company’s revenue multiplied from the initial EUR 12 million to EUR 100 million at the time of the exit. A significant portion of this growth was organic. Additionally, the number of employees increased from 40 to about 700.
